Patient Support FAQs

Do I need to download an app for the call?

No, all video calls can be made with any device, anywhere, anytime. With accessibility in mind, we have made the video calling extremely simple and easy to use.

How do I join the video consultation?
Simply click on the link provided on the email and booking confirmation. The video call will begin as soon as the clinician joins the call.
Tips for making a perfect video call
*Good internet – the video consultation needs the internet to work. All you need is a minimum of 350Kbps for both upload and download.

*Modern devices – the video consulting has been built to run on all modern machines, both computers and smart devices such as phones and tablets.

*Browsers – the video calling works best on the latest Google Chrome browser. For iPhones and iPads, we require Safari 12+ and recommend the latest iOS.

I need to cancel the appointment, what should I do?

If your appointment is over 24 hours away, you can click on the booking confirmation sent to your email and click cancel.

This will cancel the booking with the clinician and refund any costs incurred if the booking was charged.

If your appointment is less than 24 hours away, you will need to call the practice directly and request a cancellation. The practice’s phone number is available on the email confirmation sent.

How is my information stored and is it secure?
All information concerning your dental appointments is subject to strict confidentiality in accordance with national legal frameworks. Video consultations are not recorded. All information captured are heavily encrypted and can only be accessed by the clinicians.
What data security does Chairsyde provide?
All communication between Chairsyde servers and Chairsyde users are encrypted and authenticated using a strong protocol (TLS 1.2), a strong key exchange (ECDHE_RSA with P-256), and a strong cipher 128-bit encryption (AES_128_GCM). This includes any signalling data.
Within a Chairsyde call, all data, video and audio that is exchanged is encrypted using DTLS-SRTP between the participants only.
How do I book a revisit?
You can rebook a visit by visiting your practice’s website and booking against the clinician directly for when they are available next.
